In one round, you can enjoy spectacular vistas of the ocean, Molokini islet, ancient lava rock walls, coconut trees and sparkling white bunkers. The course has been labeled a "thinking player's" course because it demands strategy and careful club selection to be played well.

Emerald Golf Course - Wailea Golf Club

The Emerald Golf Course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and opened in 1971. The 18-hole "Emerald" course at the Wailea Golf Club facility in Kihei, course rating is 71.7 and a slope rating of 130. Hawaii features 6,825 yards for a par of 72.

The Blue Golf Course was designed by Arthur Jack Snyder and opened in 1971.The 18-hole "Blue" course at the Wailea Golf Club facility in Kihei, course rating is 71.6 and a slope rating of 130. Hawaii features 6,765 yards for a par of 72.

The Blue Golf Course was designed to appeal to a broad range of players. While it has challenged some of the finest professional players in the world, it also offers a measure of forgiveness in its wider fairways and large greens.

North Golf Course

The North Golf Course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and opened in 1993. The 18-hole "North" course at the Makena Golf Courses facility in Kihei, course rating is 73.6 and a slope rating of 138 on Bermuda grass. Hawaii features 6,914 yards for a par of 72.

The North Course feels more like a nature walk than a golf course, with captivating mountain views of Haleakala Crater and sweeping views of the blue Pacific Ocean. Natural Hawaiian rock walls are left right where they were found, and they play an integral part in the course design.

South Golf Course

The South Golf Course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and opened in 1993. The 18-hole "South" course at the Makena Golf Courses facility in Kihei, course rating is 73.8 and a slope rating of 137 on Bermuda grass. Hawaii features 7,014 yards for a par of 72.

With its natural rolling fairways, undulating greens, and breathtaking views of the ocean and mountains, the South Course is a favorite among many Maui golfers.

“Golfers like it because they can really let the shaft off on the drive. Long hitters can reach the green in two, or the hole may be played by laying up for an easy pitch shot”, says a Makena golf professional.
